Viva 250cc scooter ready to roll

On Tuesday, my Viva 250cc scooter arrived and thus began my scooter life. I just couldn’t deal with the price of gas going up and up and decided to do something about it… ok, something FUN about it.

Here is a shot and if you want to see all the unpacking shots, and who wouldn’t right? then go to the flickr page and view them all in detail.

This thing is supposed to get 55-60 mpg and hit a top speed of 70mph, so freeway drivers look out, Cory is getting in that lane.

I of course have to take the behind the wheel test to get my endorsement, so for now it is no passengers, night driving or freeway, but soon, very soon…

I will post more on this and how it works out for me and just what sort of savings I see. Even if I don’t see a huge savings, it will make going down the street for that pack of batteries or lightbulbs a lot more fun.

    Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear about your issues with yours. Other than the Odometer not working and sticking at 99miles, the rest has been pretty good. I took the battery out this winter and didn’t do a proper fuel treatment until later on, but this spring I put the battery in and fired her up and away I went.

As of today, May 6, 2009, I have not had her in for any sort of tune up or work. I have learned to let it warm up a bit, like 5 minutes, before I take off each time and it hasn’t given me any issues.

    Fingers crossed…
